Master Jennifer Bettis-Jones began her martial arts career in 1992. She now holds a 5th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. Master Bettis-Jones received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Management from Arizona State University. Before founding NCMA, she had an extremely successful career in the pharmaceutical industry as district manager spanning two decades. Master Bettis-Jones has a passion for teaching and installing the moral values of martial arts into the youth.
Mr. Philip brings many years of expertise in the field of professional coaching and childcare experience to NCMA and loves to develop and improve their much valued AMP program. He has worked in various youth recreation and summer camp programs across California, and even had the privilege to train Olympic athlete Dana Kirk. His philosophy is to install at a young age the values of hard work, determination, teamwork, and perseverance in all students under his direction.
Ms. Samantha Ryder began her martial arts career in 2006. She now holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2018. Ms. Ryder has been a main instructor at NCMA since 2014. Ms. Ryder is devoted to teaching martial artists self-confidence through self-defense. When talking with students, her motto is that "there is no such thing as incapability." Her love for teaching is contagious and spreads among all students and assistant instructors she leads.
Ms. Rangel is a 2nd degree black belt who began training in 2008 and became an instructor in 2016. Ms. Rangel loves teaching; her favorite part is seeing the progress that students make under her instruction.
Mr. Krak is a 1st degree black belt who began training in 2008 and became an instructor in 2015. In addition to martial arts, Mr. Krak is currently pursuing a college major in Business Administration.
Ms. Yuen is a 2nd degree black belt who began training in 2009 and became an instructor in 2016. Ms. Yuen's passion for teaching inspires her drive to instruct productive, engaging classes.
Mr. Hirschberg is a 1st degree black belt who began training in 2013 and became an assistant instructor in 2017. His favorite part of teaching is seeing progress made under his direction.
Ms. Mitzi earned her degree in child development working within San Diego Unified School District. At NCMA, she continues to implement developmental strategies in order to create a nurturing environment.
Ms. Lauren earned a degree from UCSC in sociology with a minor in education. She worked through college as a tutor and babysitter and will soon be working on her master's degree to become a teacher.
Ms. Julie attended Saint Mary's College, majoring in psychology with an emphasis in child development. She has worked in behavioral therapy and respite care and is currently studying occupational therapy.
