Belt Promotions
Testing For Promotion
NCMA's goal is to develop black belts mentally as well as physically. Therefore, we require a standard of behavior at home and grade achievement at school before allowing students to test for promotion. Most parents report that these goals for testing will increase a child's desire to improve.
Belt Testing Eligibility
- Good home report (child must be behaving at home with respectful & positive attitude).
- Good school report (no failing grades, red belt and above must have minimum GPA 3.0).
- A minimum of 3 months and 25 classes are required between each test.
- New students must have completed one month of training to be eligible to test.
- Existing students must not have missed more than one month of training since their last exam to be eligible to test.
Testing Schedule, Results
Testing is held monthly, generally the first Saturday of each month. (Refer to the calendar.) White, yellow & orange belts test at 8:00am and red & green belts test at 10:00am. Paperwork is due the Wednesday prior to the test. There is a $15 late fee for turning in paperwork after Wednesday.
Parents are encouraged to bring cameras, friends and family to the special event.
Please refer to your welcome packet for testing fees.
Promotion Ceremony
The promotion ceremony is on the second Monday at 6:30pm after the test (9 days later). This allows everyone to re-evaluate in any weak areas if necessary. Again, we encourage parents to attend this event.
Change Classes
Students will move to their new classes the week after the promotion ceremony.
